About Legacy Glass Art
Stained glass art is 'practical' art that can be used and enjoyed everyday in your home. It can add a statement of individuality to a front door, block a view of the neighbor's side yard and keep bathrooms private while being beautiful at the same time.
Although I had dabbled in stained glass since high school, my real exposure to glass came from my experience with homebuilding and remodeling, and that is still my personal interest. Legacy Glass Art is my opportunity to be surrounded by art and color and other people who are as excited about the possibilities of glass as I am.
Boise has quite a community of glass artists. I'm hoping the store will be a central place for both established artists and people just drawn to glass for the first time to share ideas.
It's exciting to see students' eyes light up when they figure out that they can build an impressive project that they love and their friends are amazed by. Stained glass pieces are truly a "Legacy" to be passed on from generation to generation. |

We design and build pieces for clients who would like a special stained glass window created for their homes and businesses. Cost for commissioned work depends on the detail of the design, types of glass used and the finished size. You will know the cost of your panel before you make a commitment. You will be suprised how affordable it is to add so much character to your home!
There are so many ways to add Glass Art to your life. We have built pieces to replace window coverings in bathroom windows (the neighbors can't see in and you have a beautiful view everyday!) The right design in a door sidelight can really make a statement at your front door - besides adding great color and art to your entry - inside & out. Kitchen cabinets take on a whole new look by adding glass. You can add a sheet of glass in a door panel or have a leaded design built to match your backsplash, wallpaper, dishes.....whatever you like best!
Clients are encouraged to have as much input as they would like in their design and in glass selections to be used for their project. At the first meeting we will review where the piece will be displayed to get a feel for the architecture, dimensions, the setting, view and decor so that the finished piece is truly integrates into your space. We will discuss any installation requirements and factors that may affect the piece.
After a review of your theme and vision, a full size drawing (called a cartoon) will be prepared for your approval. Design adjustments will be made and glass will be selected next and the building process can begin.
In a short time, you will have a work of art unique to you. We never reproduce your design for anyone else.
